GOOD BYE WINTER!
Life in general
The world around us is defrosting, the sun is shining, green things are starting to bud all around. This is a great time to be in Montreal. This winter wasn’t an especially cold one (not like last year), but any winter in La Belle Province is still pretty hardcore, days of -30 (F or C, doesn’t matter at this point), mountains of snow and ice, with short days and long nights. Not sorry to see you go! Now we get to look forward to all the crazy awesome things that spring and summer in Montreal bring, which means the community pools start to open up, the foliage comes to life again, the festivals all start revving up, and it all starts with lobster season!
One of our upstairs tenants moved out a bit early this year, since almost everyone in Quebec moves on “Moving Day” which is July 1. No idea who decided it was a smart idea for everyone to simultaneously move on the same day, clogging the streets with moving vans all day, and the streets with garbage and throwaway furniture for weeks afterwards. Fun to watch the chaos though. anyway, we’ll try our hand at some minor reno’s on their unit, and then put it up for rent soon enough.
On the purchase side of things,
On the dividend side of things, it was pretty solid too. Although it was the first month to break our “constantly gaining” streak, still can’t complain 🙂
On to May!
